Wave…voices..spreading around us…
Some voices touches the ear, some touches the heart..
When it touches your heart, it can hardly be vanished..
It echoes in your heart, in your eyes, in your mind..everywhere..
Such voices are…
“I get up at 5am in the morning. Just getting up early morning to ride to the workplace (about 13.2km) and to avoid traffic. If I catch the bus, it will cost me Kyats.600 ($0.6 ) and will add to Kyats 20000 ($20) per month. I just simply do not afford to spend $20 as my earnings just barely cover my daily meal, rent fees. Sometimes I have to skip my breakfast..Hardly cover day to day expenses..My life is hard to survive though I am working 24/7” (A worker from one of the construction sites from the suburb of Yangon)
“I have a fever and I am sick. Yes, I am sick. I want to take a rest but if I cannot. Selling books the whole day I can make at least Kyats 2500 ~3500 ($2.5~3.5). I couldn’t take a rest. If I go and see the doctor, it will be at least $2. So, I just bought a traditional medicine which costs only 0.02 cents. Hopefully when my youngest daughter finish her year 8 schooling, it will be a help. It will be a great help for us. She will drop the school and work at some factory.” ( A disable retired Army man)
“I have been putting lots of efforts to be able to open a school here. It takes me 7 years, working day and night to be able to open a primary school here. I have passed several sleepless nights. I was so much happy and grateful when the government acknowledged as a registered primary school and agreed to support the school. I thought I could have a rest, do not worry much about school and some spare time for meditation. But..all the kids come to the school with no lunch box or food. If I do not work hard, how could l provide them lunch and support for their education. So..i have to work hard again” ( A monk from a monastery schooling)
“In the morning, all our family go to work. My brother is 13 years old working at the tea shop, my sister is in year 6 but couldn’t afford to go school and she works at the retail store. Only when they get back home, we cook together and share whatever we have for the day. So, we have our lunch at the monastery.” ( A year 4 student from the monastery schooling)
Such voices can be heard everywhere in Burma.
Such voices just touches my heart instead of my ears..

~ မနက္ဆို ၅နာရီခြဲေလာက္ထတယ္။ ကားေလးရွင္းတုန္းေစာေစာထြက္သြားလိုက္တယ္။ ကားမစီးေတာ့ဘူး။ လႈိင္သာယာကေနကားစီးရင္ အရမ္းက်ပ္တယ္ဗ်ာ။ တစ္ေန႔ ၆၀၀၊ တစ္လ ၂ေသာင္းနီပါးလည္း အကုန္မခံခ်င္ေတာ့ အရစ္က်ဝယ္ထားတဲ့ စက္ဘီးေလးနဲ႔ လွည္းတန္းကဆိုက္ထဲထိ

နားခ်င္ေပမယ့္လည္း ေနမရလို႔ထြက္လာတာ။ စာအုပ္ေလးေခါက္ျပန္ေရာင္းမွ တစ္ေနကုန္ ၂၅၀၀/၃၅၀၀ ေလာက္က်န္မွာ ဆိုေတာ့ နားခ်င္ေပမယ့္လည္း ဘယ္နားႏိုင္မလဲဗ်ာ။ ေဆးခန္းက ၁၅၀၀၊ ေဆးထိုးရင္ ၂၀၀၀ ေလာက္ဆိုေတာ့ လမ္းထိပ္က ေဆးဆိုင္မွာ ၂၀၀ ဖိုးေဆးစပ္ေသာက္လိုက္တယ္။ အငယ္မဒီႏွစ္ ၈တန္းေအာင္ရင္ ေက်ာင္းႏႈတ္ၿပီး အထည္ခ်ဳပ္ထည့္လိုက္ေတာ့မယ္။
